Have they been done before? I am interested because a twin storage tower was proposed in portland oregon recently(tower one:369' tower two:294') here are the renders:
I will comment. These stowage towers for boats are interesting. I had known the auto ones in VW Wolfsbug in Germany where cars are automatic stowed. I would not say that ones are ugly, but...
See.
I don't know if there are diagrams for that and included already in SSP
If you consider a library a place of storage (I know it's kind of stretching what you probably meant), I've always found the Bibliothèque nationale de France (National Library of France) very interesting for a library:

so its basically a huge parking lot for boats!?!?
its kinda cool i just wonder how they would get all those ships to their place
i guess its kinda cool it also makes a roomier water front with better views
This is a 9 storie cold storage building/wharehouse in the Newcenter area, 10 stories if you include the corner tower. It used to have clocks at the top of the corner tower, but I don't have a clue why they were removed or where they are now.

lol! No, it holds the cargo from these ships.

actually it does hold boats, and cars, and pretty much anything you want
in this render you can see the tracks that takes the boats from the river into the tower. its pretty cool!
