I also like the Jets. - I mean honestly, any new name will likely sound ridiculous.

Maybe the trolls don't come here (seriously, can we take action against the actual offenders vs. punishing everyone?).

Winnipeg. Draft. Free agents. Cup parade. Discuss.

The Skybar thread is still open. Let's keep this discussion for Winnipeg.

What's a Skybar, and why are we not allowed to make new threads in the Canada section all of a sudden?

Last night was a night for the rotten tomatoes. Give yourself a break.

Skybar is at the bottom of the main forum index.

Shouldn't this thread move to the MB section anyways? The Jets are back...

Your guess is as good as mine. Technically there's been a parallel thread in the MB section for eons now - this one tended to reach a broader audience. Not really sure why it's been allowed.

Now I feel intimidated about creating or commenting on anything in this section. Some ground rules might be appreciated. I don't look forward to the stimulating hockey discussion of one page of posts in nearly 2 months, but c'est la vie.

If more people moved towards that discussion area, it wouldn't be so lonely.

The rule however is simple. No city vs. city trolling.

I've seen plenty of city vs city trolling in the main construction threads, but never seen them locked as a result. I also find it interesting that one of the biggest news stories in Canada this year has ZERO discussion allowed on SSP. Sure, this is about construction etc, but it still feels odd. I've never seen a handful of bad apples be able to completely quell any and all discussion over such a broad topic (hockey AND a major news story) before. Someone's clearly struck a nerve with someone important unless I missed a lot more heated posts than exist currently.

Ah well, now we have 2 redundant Winnipeg NHL threads here - THIS strikes me as a case for locking one of these threads.

So, no more hockey-talk in the Canada section?

This thread should be locked. There is already a NHL in Winnipeg thread here.

Agreed. I know of a quick way to get it locked, too.

Talk about riots? OK.

Hey when Winnipeg wins the cup we'll show those nancy boys in Vancouver what a REAL riot is!
