Bleh, another restaurant going on Vic East. Maybe one of their additional franchises could go downtown.... Wishful thinking though, I'm guessing the rest of them will be in Alberta.

Fuddruckers has a well-known name though, so they might be able to make a go of it in that mess/overserved area of the city.

The Saskatoon Fuddruckers has gone downhill so fast in the last five years. Maybe I had an affinity for it back in the day because I was young, but I can't even be bothered to go there anymore.

Really hoping that's because it was independent and the chain itself is better.

I've been referring to the east end as The Frozen Yogurt District for a while now...

I think Fuddruckers will challenge my name - the east end might now be The Hamburger District (Five Guys; Fatburger; Fuddruckers; Carl's Jr.; plus the usual fast food burger joints)

Fuddruckers has never been good, it is fueled solely on nostalgia.

The "Frozen Yogurt District" lost Tutti Frutti on Quance.

Maybe you intentionally overlooked Burger Baron.

Famoso is ready to open Monday. This place looks great. Still lots of patio weather left too.

Not new but it has a newish patio. Nice story on the Copper Kettle with a video with vintage shots of Scarth St.

Famoso opened today. Tried the takeout pizza. It is pretty decent. It is supposed to be able to be cooked in 90 seconds in their fancy forno.

Looking forward to a Peroni draft on the patio on the next nice afternoon

I attended one of their soft openings on the weekend and can tell you the food is very tasty. They also have a nice selection of tasty Italian style cocktails and friendly staff. It has a real urban restaurant/lounge feel to it as well. Will be returning for more good eats for sure.

The owner also told me they are opening up two other locations in the city, one up north, construction starting sometime this fall, and another one in the east end. Really glad they started with the d-town location first though.

He also mentioned that there is another pub opening downtown, right beside the fat badger, apparently same owners as Ohanlons. Anyone know anything about this?

That'd be interesting since O'Hanlon also is an investor in the Fat Badger IIRC.

2013 or so definitely stands out as a major inflections point for options downtown.
