The Avery opens tomorrow. As for 500 Folsom, the crane is nearly down.

Evening of June 13, 2019. The Avery across the street was having some sort of sales party. The only people I saw walking in or out in the brief moment I was nearby were gay couples with huge age differences (maybe it was an event targeting the LGBT community, but it was notable enough for me to mention it here).

Mmm. Yea; gay couples of different ages hardly strike me as relevant but thanks for capturing this perspective. It's nice to see the breaks in the facade feel a bit more prominent closer up.

I may be in the minority, but this is probably the worst recent high rise SF has produced. Hideous proportions/massing. Don't get me started on the facade. Goodness.

I agree. To me, it’s the worst high rise since Jasper. It looks like a squat box from a distance, very inferior to the towers around and near it.

^^Sorry. I'm on the other side. I like it quite a bit.

Still not sure how I feel about 400 Folsom, though. The height is nice and from certain angles it makes me feel I've misjudged it, but then I see it from an angle where it just looks like a glass box.

To me, I like it. Sure, it's not the best design and I would like for it to be taller, but it does make the skyline more unique rather than it being just a regular, blue glass building. It's like a far inferior version of The Independent in Austin, TX.
