That stuff's good, but for the love of god, don't get the barbecue chicken sandwich. I had it once and pulled an inch long bone out of my mouth from it. Scared the hell out of me. Their chopped beef sandwich rules though, and their bucket of tea is great in the summertime.

In some chatter here and there, the old "Fidelity building" next to the "Sterling Bank" building on 281 near bitters is in the talks; their regional offices are located across the street.
I think One Riverwalk has 46,000 of contigous space on floors 8-11 not to mention that suite 101 was used as restaurant space.

Really? Does moving 100 miles up the road to city with 3 interstates instead of 1 and a nominally larger airport with little in the way of direct flights really make a difference? And since when is moving to stay out of the way of hurricanes ever been an excuse for anyone to move?

The way I see it, you have a CEO with no familial ties to the original company making a strictly personal and subjective decision.

This isn't a win for San Antonio. It makes me feel very sad.

I really do hate that. But things change, I hope another another company moves its headquarters to Corpus Christ. Corpus Christi is a beautiful coastal city. I have always had a great time when I went there. If that city ever gets going as far as a destination it will not be stopped.

Is it true that they were considering locating SeaWorld in Corpus? Some of the folks commenting on the Caller Times website were mentioning that, and I had never heard about it before.

It would have made more sense. It's not like there are walrus, penguins or killer whales in the gulf, but at least there's the salt water...or water in general.

Wasn't Valero a CC company at one time as well?

From working there three years ago, I never once heard anything about Sea World being ment for Corpus, just how the park almost went bankrupt and the animals trying to drown their trainers. What they're saying sounds a lot like how the people in El Paso swear that USAA was supposed to build Fiesta Texas over there instead of in San Antonio.

Awesome! I love Whataburger. It's not quite AT&T, but it's still another large company that will be headquartered in SA... so it's still a win.

That does suck for Corpus, though... I remember every time we went to Corpus we would eat at Whataburger because it was its birthplace.

Whataburger is going to be moving into the Tesoro HQ - the old one near the Quarry not the new one near North Dakota.
