Nice! yeah I know they were uncertain about hotel or apartments for a while, and I kind of wish they would have gone apartments at that location, but I can't complain really, and I'm glad they seem to be moving forward and not letting the second phase linger.

I think a hotel will bring much-needed foot traffic to the north end of Mill.

On that note-it's amazing how many hotels are being added within walking distance of Sun Devil Stadium as of late. Shows what a destination Mill is becoming.

I think the previously approved hotel (Kimpton) was 16/ 17 stories? So this is disappointing that they were downsizing the proposal. I guess when they first proposed the development there wasn't as many hotels in the pipeline. I think that location will have no problem filling rooms being between Mill/ ASU/ The Airport/ The Lake.

Thank you, the reservations are not Tempe but we don't have a thread for rez projects. Idk if one is needed. The land is generally "Scottsdale."

Akimel 7 project seems too ambitious but if we get half the things being proposed that would be a big win. Akimel 7 and the project being developed across skysong are at the core of Tempe although it’s in Scottsdale. I consider these projects just as important to Tempe as any other. Plus these project will help bring bigger developments around the lake.

I believe this is just extended parking for the Office Building across the street. They added curbs and Light Pole bases.

Some Oliv photos from the last week or two from Beal Derkenne's facebook page:

Also, when browsing their page, I saw that they announced the demo on Forest/7th as a "groundbreaking," and when I went by the other day, they appeared to be drilling columns. This one looks like it's going to go right up.

It looks like it to me, I count 17 floors above parking, which is the same as the renderings.

Looks like there is a power substation at First and Farmer. I thought those were basically there forever, is this development taking over.

Looking this up on Google Earth made me see the squatter land next to the tracks. Anyone know what the status is now on that ridiculous case?
