La la la yet another Nuw Yoik City thread!

So I've had two good trips to NYC in the last month's time AND I'm moving there in a week! I'M MOVING TO NYC!! Washington Heights ((because that's all I can afford)) here I come, yay! It hasn't even sunk in one bit that I'm moving to New York Fucking City but I'm totally ready for it... I've loved the place for as long as I've known it, which in my case goes back to 1991 when I was 8 years old.

Anyway for the October trip I stayed at the freaking W Hotel on Lexington right by Grand Central Terminal, one block from the Seagram Building, expenses paid... I mean sheeeeeeeeeeeit. Then this week I stayed at an apartment in Harlem that had been ransacked while they were away for a week and a half in Boston with me (no joke, my grand introduction to their place was seeing what a heartfelt turn-the-whole-place-upside-down home invasion looks like) while making various work trips up and down the island of Manhattan in a bloated 15 passenger van with trailer in tow (OMFG PARKING THAT THING BLOWS). Why massive van in Manhattan? Because rock band.

And now that I've rambled on for way too long, who's up for some boring architecture shots...

Thurr's mah gurrrl ^

View from the W Hotel:

Penn Station:

And into the night:

And now we leave that ^ lonely dude behind and fast forward to November!

Quick stop to the lunch counter at Cafe Edison before it disappears forever:

Another doomed institution:

This one's been long gone:

But heyyyy progress!

Amazing tour and pictures! Thanks for sharing. There´s nothing better to begin this Sunday morning...

The Big Apple is all its brilliance! Enjoyed the whole tour. You covered all the island taking great shots.

Congrats for moving to NYC! What a fabulous experience!

Nice pictures of the Skyscrapers! Welcome to our City and I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. FYI- When I first moved here 18 years ago -guess where I ended up my first night?....Yeap- Washington Heights! Back then it was a much rougher neighborhood- I only lasted ONE night then I split! Much improved area since then but it was one of those classic first move to NYC kind of stories! LOL-Too funny! Good Luck

Ha, even though I'm just moving there, my friends who got robbed are moving to Washington Heights and that in turn is prompting my move (I had been looking to move down for some time). And I'm hoping that with their bad fortune that that's all there'll be of it and it'll be nothing but smooth sailing from here on out... HOPEFULLY.

Anyway thank you

nice work and good job hitting up the edison diner before it closes. i dk what it is, but the staff have always been the nicest people in there. tasty diner food too. loved that place. i wish they would turn it back into the ballroom it was, but i doubt it. i suppose it will end up some clever space only open to the rich. oh well. welcome to new gentrify city!

I have some friends in Washington Heights and they love it. It's a neighborhood with bones as good as any in the city. Heck, the country. I wish I had the money to buy a building there, that place is exploding right now.

Nice pics
