Calgary Photos: Hillside views

Calgary is blessed with plenty of hills and thus, plenty of hillside views especially of it's downtown core, these are just a few of the many hillside views of downtown and areas.

From Crescent Hill

From Briar hill

From Bankview, a cool neighborhood southwest of downtown

From Lower Mount Royal, just south of downtown

Last but not least, a Pano from Briar Hill.

good stuff. It really emphasizes the topography. I really love the shot toward Nose Hill.

Great shots! My favourites are actually the ones from Bankview...not photographed a lot, but a very nice area with some good views.

I agree with Intothewest, Bankview is something I'd like to see more of. One of the coolest neighborhoods in the city. The geography and the housing is unique.

Well done!

Thanks for the great photos! I love being in Winnipeg, but seeing pics like these do make me wonder if moving away from Calgary (after 13 years there) was the right thing to do. Sigh.........

At the rate that houses prices have gone up since I left 2 years ago, I'm not sure if I can afford to !

Surreal - if you want another decent place on a "hill" to take a skyline shot, try Readers Rock Garden...we went up last year, and I tried getting a couple quick shots which got the east-side of the skyline - but didn't have time to really scope out a good spot to take a full skyline shot. I seem to recall that the porch at the entrance of Readers cafe had good views...worth checking out anyway.

Thanks! I'll have to get over there and take some photos. I've been meaning to check it out.

Great photos, nice to see Calgary looking so green. My favorite is the downtown apartments with the mountains, makes me homesick.
