Will CentrePort be a moot point when China's bubble-economy bursts in 10 years?
(Don't kid yourself into thinking their growth is going to last forever. The question to ask is what will happen and how can you make money when the bubble bursts.)
My other question:
How long is the vision for this project? I like it in theory (a lot, actually), especially with the growth of Mexico, but what if Mexico were to just build its own ports in 15 years?
I'll echo Vike's concerns from page 1. Not sure how this project works out long term. 10 years of awesomeness and then another city does it better and we're left with what? What is the long-term vision?

The law of diminishing returns suggests that China will slow down in terms of economic growth as a percentage year to year. That doesn't really mean there's much chance of volume of trade or actual dollar figures getting lower. China is only at the beginning and when it finally catches up there should be no doubt that it will be the world's economic powerhouse. In macro-economic terms , there's nothing close to a bubble going on in China.
As for Mexico , it has plenty of ports already but even if it were to choose a city for it's own inland port along the corridor then it would obviously serve as the southern terminus while we serve as the northern one. There's no competition in that respect. In fact, with any luck , that's exactly what's going on in Mexico.
A crowd attracts a crowd so the more successful this idea is all along the corridor , the greater the chance that we'll benefit from it. As a terminus , we'd stand to cash in quite a bit.
