Can't wait to see if/how they choose to light this bad boy up at night. If they do it right with the deco-esque features it could be a real stunner.

Residential buildings don't typically get lit up an night.

I am assuming you are suggesting they might do something with the setbacks (nbc tower-esque), but that doesn't really work out so well if it is directed into peoples living rooms.

I would love if they did, but I am thinking the likelihood is very low.

Remember when they lit up Aqua when it first opened, around the same time they were trying to get the olympi bid? It looked pretty sweet, a litte too Miami, but cool none the less. They took that down really quick. Must have got bombarded with complaints from residents.

Yeah, totally didn't occur to me that residents wouldn't be too keen on it. Makes absolute sense though. Shame, because I think this one would look killer all lit up at night.

Especially if they did the vertical deco light thing like nbc but instead of orange they use a blueish white. But if I'm paying 1.5 million for a two bed i wouldnt want light shining in my living room either.

You would have 4 supertalls along the river with WPS in the background, an amazing view from LSD, (yes i know it probably won't turn out as the rendering show, but let me dream please.) This a really great tower that should get built, i hope we have more supertalls on the way in the next 5 years while the economy stands strong (maybe 3-5)

I can't help but think the Vista should look taller than the Aon since it's in the foreground! I know Vista is taller than Trump tower(without spire) and in the real pic it is practically aligned with the Aon so i feel it being the closest it should look noticeably taller!
See page 25 for reference

Just me tho

That rendering gets me so pumped to see that famous chicago river view in movies. With the low helicopter going from LSD to Riverpoint. WPS i think will make the most dramatic change to that shot. A little off topic but has there been any noise about the reid murdoch project, or is that one just dead in the mud?

Can we please not have Amazon HQ2 nonsense infect every thread on this entire forum?

There are already appropiate places on this forum to discuss HQ2.

general HQ2 discussion: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=229754

chicago-specific HQ2 discussion: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=225033

Steely Dan: thank you for all of the hard work you out in to making this a great website! One thing that I think would help prevent all of the random off topic economic conversations on unrelated threads is if you would also include the Chicago economic and business development thread on what I consider the best landing page for all Chicago topics. If you were to add that thread to this page, http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/tags.php?tag=chicago
I think it would greatly help in reducing threads getting hijacked.

i would love to do that, but i don't have the ability to "tag" threads. only the forum owner and one other guy have that ability, and they are both MIA these days, so.......

I like that it will balance the number of supertalls north and south of the river to 3 on each side, pending completion of the Vista Tower.

I'm not including the Franklin Center in this since it achieves its height with the use of spires.
