A 10 Eastern part of the Berlin Ring Highway (196km long):

Quote:
Bundesautobahn 10 (translates from German as Federal Motorway 10, short form Autobahn 10, abbreviated as BAB 10 or A 10) runs in Brandenburg and is an orbital motorway around Berlin and is therefore called the Berliner Ring. It should not be confused with the Berliner Stadtring (A 100).

Southern Part of the Berlin Ring:

Quote:
The A 10 is generally 4 to 6 lanes wide. In spring 2006, the section between Berlin-Hellersdorf and Berlin-Marzahn will be completely upgraded to 6 lanes. There are plans to extend the A 10 to 8 lanes between the Potsdam junction and the Nuthetal junction, in order to upgrade the Schwanebeck junction and upgrade the A 10 between Neuruppin and the A 24 to 6 lanes. These plans are considered as urgent and construction is likely to be started before 2010.

The distance between the BAB100 and the BAB10 is way to far away from each other.I know it has something to do with the past but until the BAB100 is not entirely completed as an inner Ring , traffic will be congested even worse.

There is a huge need of more BAB roads to connect both Ring roads urgent!

When is the part of the new junction at Neukolln going to be connected across the Spree river and the Ostkreuz bahnhof further north ??

Pics from the O2-World, taken from the Eisbären Forum.

The first of 3 Marquee signs has been installed.
On the first pic you can also see a bit of the Berlin Wall.

So many of these designs disrespect the history of berlin, highrises are okay.
But lowrises should not be ugly and plain, they should mimick the older german fashion of buildings. The projects that restore history to the city are amazing, but the ones that dont disrespect the city, and should be refacaded in stone with old details.

The Stuttgarter Platz across S-bahnhof Charlottenburg is going to be refurbished.

and this:

Urban Development & Planning - Office Location Berlin
Development 1990-2000: New Construction

Approximately 7 million m² of new office space have been built since 1990, and approximately 5 million m² of them have meanwhile been absorbed by the market.

Net assimilation of office space over the past ten years has averaged 440,000 m² per year.

Newly built office space is distributed as follows:

* Inner city, including the two central business districts 50%
* Locations along the rapid transit rail ring 20%
* Locations in outer boroughs 30%.

A significant proportion of this amount was accounted for by offices occupied and leased by the federal government (900,000 m²).

New Library for Humboldt University

While the above is only a plan, the new library for the Humboldt-University is under construction and will be opened in 2009.
It's located next to Friedrichstraße Station.
Here is the Hompage: http://www.grimm-zentrum.hu-berlin.de/

And there are some pictures available:

Also under construction is the "Upper Eastside Berlin" building at Friedrichstraße / Unter den Linden crossing.

This is how it looks like:

And there is a Homepage:
