College Station buried its lines along Texas Ave. and Harvey Road a few years ago....two of the busiest secondary roads in the city....its looks FIVE MILLION times better! Just makes everything along those roads seem cleaner.

SKW: Tell me how to post pictures on here and I'll show what I have. We actually don't have tons of renderings, and the ones we have aren't paticularly detailed (we just went straight into construction drawings).

With regards to getting the $300K, we worked with COSA for a grant/loan that will be repaid with future ad valorem taxes (specific to our project). The city came through - staff and council are really serious about finding ways to get these projects off the ground.

Chad.

...see?
I have a love hate relationship with them for that reason. Here's a shot I took in Austin on Cameron Road in Northeast Austin one afternoon.

I don't even mind this to some extent. To me, it's less offensive in the city, but out in rural areas, it just looks nasty. Especially in some areas of East Texas with power lines lining the roads with the pine trees there. Kind of takes away the charm of the piney woods. In the city though, it's just one of those things you have to put up with.

We have that. I've seen them all over Austin. They come up my street sometimes too, but they're never on bikes. They always have a push cart. In some ways I like it better than a 1981 Ford Econo-line driving around blasting awful sounding jingles.

They had the econoliners until the mid-90s and then they all converted to bikes to cut overhead and increase their ability to spread out into the neighborhoods.

I miss those jingles

The jingles are fine, but they need to invest in a system.

I would personally flat a van if it came by blasting dnb or similar on an overly elaborate sound system.

No ice cream for you today, kids, because your ice cream man is a JERK.

The above pictures prove to me that the MedCtr could be absolutely perfect for light rail.

Hey, I recognize those shots! I took those photos last year when I was in town. Man, they're a lot better than this year's photos. No time this trip...
