Park Board split over whether Dallas or a developer should pay for ‘top priority’ Pacific Plaza in downtown

Mukemmel's plan would be best for the neighborhood…residential + park space + retail would breath new life in the area. BTW, those towers are GORGEOUS.

Yes, the towers are sexy.

I just wish we had a skyline pic so, we could see how the buildings would look (and the height compared to other buildings)

Sarimsakci’s is the far superior plan and yes, those towers are gorgeous! It is difficult to tell how the buildings would appear in the context of the skyline, but I'm sure their addition would be impactful, especially given their location in relation to the rest of the skyline (at its center).

I think the developers should be ponying up to the city instead.

Cold hard numbers suggest $100 million is easier to raise than $600 million, which favors the parking garage. Plus there's that plan to reuse the empty 50-story bank building for condos. So we'll see what happens.

On the other hand, DFW is about 115,000 up on its job numbers compared to last year, so there may be some momentum for something big.

Uptown Plaza, a 23-story residential building, will soon commence construction.

Although not eye-catching like Fountain Place or the Crescent, Bleu Ciel is just as well-sculpted as seen in the trilogy of streamline "fins."
The architecture makes a statement, whilst not screaming "look at me!" Bleu Ciel is classy, just what Harwood wanted.

"Centurion American buys Statler Hilton, plans $175M redo"

Moayedi plans to redevelop the Statler Hilton, as well as the adjacent George Dahl-designed building next to the historic hotel that once houses the Dallas Public Library, into a mixed-use development, which a hotel, residential, restaurant and retail space and office space.

The redo -- which had preliminary plans for a theater, a ballroom and hotel lounge -- includes two nearby parking lots next to the Statler and the former library.

More Bleu Ciel renderings:

From these renderings, Bleu Ciel will apparently dwarf Azure. It sits higher, is wider, and taller.

It looks that way in the rendering, but the scale/perspective is just out of whack. Bleu Ciel and Azure are actually pretty close to identical in terms of height and scale.
