Looks like a McDonalds and a Starbucks are slotted as part of a 6-unit commercial development at the north corner of Granite and Elmwood.

Yawn

There has been increased activity around the new Kubota dealership south of the Caledonia Industrial park.

Driving by yesterday, I could see lots of equipment, and part of the foundation has been completed.

The work has been impressive in that area. They don't even have a real road into that area yet, still they are going great guns with the building, road construction, power lines, water lines, sewers and all that sort of stuff. It's interesting to see them build what will essentially be a new area of the city out of nothing. The eternally wet weather for this sort of endeavour must be challenging.

There is now yellow caution tape up all around the periphery of the Saint-Louis-de-France church property on Pleasant Street at Lewisville.

This means to me that demolition must be imminent. I would say we will soon see construction of this new apartment building very shortly.

This is certainly going to be a very busy construction year in the city.........

Great location, nice product. So many new apartment buildings in the city. As well as Dieppe & Riverview.

Kubota has planned to be building a year ago but had to wait for access to get equipment in there.

And, as anticipated, demolition of the church has now begun.........

There's a new post on Mayor Dawn Arnold's FB page showing her at the unveiling of the renders of a new Wabash Canada building under construction on Frenette Avenue in the Caledonia Industrial Park.

I'm currently at work. When I get home this evening, I'll lift the render and post it here.

Mayor Arnold said in her post that it was going to be a "long day" of sod turnings and unveilings. I'm sure this includes Tannery Place South. I wonder if anything else is up???

Any idea if the building is down or is it still standing as they clear out any reclaimables?

It's not down yet. They were busy removing some of the external fascia last evening.

Bell tower is still there, but the developer did say he was planning on incorporating it into the design of his building somehow.......

Expansion planned for Lewisville Baptist Church:

I'm a little surprised by this. The last I heard, the congregation was trying to sell their existing church and build elsewhere. I guess things have changed........

Yup, that's what I heard as well. Not quite certain, but where I heard that they were going to build was next to the brand new mansion on Storey Road East. That mansion is owned by one of the Irving's next to the horse stables.
