That is really cool! I hadn't even noticed The Alamo there. I used to do similar drawings of Austin's skyline, really just independent buildings. But nothing like that. That's neat.

By the way, there's a section of the forum that you might be interested in. It's the 'Skyscraper & Urban Art' section. You might want to check it out. There's all kinds of skyscraper art in there. Neat stuff.

I need help double checking the floor count of a office building in San Antonio along Loop 410. 111 Northeast Loop 410 is supposed to be 14 floors, at least that's what I've heard. If anyone lives in that area or travels through there often, can you check? Just a quick count of the windows should do the trick. I need the info for Emporis. The building's floor count is missing from its page there.

If your'e talking about Crazy Blocks Building, the tallest portion should be 15 floors.

Thanks. This is the one I'm talking about. At least I believe this is it. The address I posted above actually plotted just across 410 from the building. But it seems to be the one I'm looking for. If you count the floors, it looks like there are 14.

Hey, that red car is my dad's! He manages Steinway Piano Gallery, the square building on the right.

Thanks guys! It was already added. Apparently the address was wrong. It's not 111 NE Loop 410, but 100 NE Loop 410. I found that other address on the Antenna Registration Search site.

That's funny, Boquillas.

If that building were 5 separate towers instead of one long row, they'd all seem a lot taller. Houston has a lot of skinny lowrises like that.

I've always lamented that that building (One International Center is its official name) couldn't have spread its square footage vertically instead of horizontally. I guess the fact that its so close to the airport had the most influence upon the layout, but we are talking about SA so who knows. If it were 30 stories instead of 14, I guess we'd all be griping that it isnt downtown.

Is it a tower crane or a mobile crane?

By the way, that building is 213 feet tall. So not too bad.

Weird. It can't be for Talavera, because that's at the eastern edge of the development. Maybe its for one of those two other hotels (can't think of the brands at the moment).

If it's by Leon Creek, then its the Marriotts.

From RECenter;
Construction underway on 260 rooms at The Rim
(Hotel : San Antonio) 8/8/2008
"Two Marriott brand hotels are under construction as part of The Rim mixed-use development. Concord Hospitality Enterprises Co. began construction in July on two hotels - a 120-room Courtyard and a 140-room Residence Inn. Both hotels will have six floors. The hotels are being built simultaneously and should be finished by the end of summer 2009. The Courtyard will have 1,000 sf of meeting space, a restaurant and lounge. The hotels will share common space, including an outdoor pool and patio. Already nearby is the 500-room Westin La Cantera Resort. A 223-room Drury Inn & Suites is under construction on the southwest corner of Loop 1604 and I-10. A hotel with up to 200 rooms is planned at éilan, across I-10 from The Rim. Concord secured a $28 million construction loan to build the hotels."

Yeah it is the Courtyard and Residence Inn.

When do you think we'll see a crane for Talavera? There was a mobile crane on the site for a while earlier in the year when they began on the parking garage, alas nothing since.

^^^^^^^^

thanks for posting those...i literally had them up on my screen and was lamenting having to go through the process to do it myself.

that said, that thing is HUGE!!

1,002 rooms sure do take a lot of space when they're built horizontally.

That resort looks huge! I knew it was going to be built, but I had no idea it was that far along already. It looks like one of the big hotel/resorts in Orlando.
