Whew! Knowing that I take it back. Still, that unnamed street (which apparently doesn't exist yet) doesn't have any retail. It may not seem to matter now, but give it time and people in 10 years will say, "Why doesn't this street have any restaurants or stores?"

Anyone know what's going on next to Vidorra on Crockett Street?

I have a vague recollection of there being a four story apartment box proposed a year or two ago, but I haven't heard anything since and can't find anything now.

Same thing. Developments just take time to develop.

Thanks! Kinda generic I guess, but not in a bad way. In any case, it'll do a lot to energize the St Paul's square area. And it's great they're re-purposing that historic brick building on Center Street.

No street level retail... again. When are these developers going to learn? Better yet, when is the city going to learn and make them include street level retail in multi-level urban dwellings?

A bit of a contradiction there. Definitely generic, and with no real street interaction, definitely not good.

So, no chance of it being Vidorra's second tower?

Look at the Center St renderings. Also definitely not a contradiction. Buildings don't have to be unique snowflake gems to be attractive.

I understand what you're saying. These are apartments after all. They have today's in-fashion look and tie into the feel of Sunset Station and the Vidorra townhomes.

I would also have to agree with what others are saying about the ground level retail. If there is an area that has potential to develop into an urban neighborhood that could extend downtown activity east past the IH37 wall it's these blocks past the tracks to Cherry St., especially those close to the Convention Center.

It's certainly true that it hasn't ever really happened with the space that is available, but this is definitely a long term proposition. The city should require that developments of this type in this type of neighborhood have space for retail if smart growth is really their goal.

Anyone happen to have that original rendering of the giant sail/fin thing that they wanted to put on top of both towers?

I liked the sails. They looked like sharks in the air. It looked a little more inspired than it does now.

From what I've heard here in Phoenix regarding residential development in the downtown core. When financing these projects, it's seen as a higher risk with retail on ground level and not as risky with it just being all residential.

Trust me, I rolled my eyes too, but it's not so much the developers as it is whoever finances these things. Again, don't shoot the messenger. I went to a downtown event that spoke about things like this and that was definitely a question asked.

DT AAA Stadium shelved

Plans for the Triple A stadium that was proposed for DT have been shelved indefinitely, and will not be included in budget.

She told the City Council that staff will continue to work on the project, but there’s been no financial commitment included in either the fiscal year 2017 budget, which the council is poised to approve Thursday, or in the 2017 bond program, which will go before voters next May. The council was briefed Wednesday in a closed-session meeting by the Barrett Sports Group, which conducted a study on the feasibility of Triple A baseball in San Antonio.

Perhaps we can now look up, and not over, on this? If the Missions move to Amarillo, or Lubbock, what then?

Thank goodness, i was scared they were gonna put it at the corner of cesar and 37.

I really want cesar to be a walkable, urban street with steetlined restaurants and retail. They'd have to narrow the street of course, but that's what that could easily become to Alamo.

This might be a bad or obvious question but in the rendering of the Crockett Lofts, are those slate grey apartment buildings on the left side of the rendering existing already or is that another project that's been proposed? I'm in NYC and when back in SA don't really go to this area often so I'm a little behind the times with what's been going on in that area.
