I hope " forward looking development concept" ( from article ) means re-design.! It's a snoozer as it is

I liked the original design. Nice and thin, but the slight changes that were made a while back made it considerably less interesting.

Those changes that surfaced in ~May were for a 51-story tower. This is 58-stories now, so hopefully the latest changes will be an improvement over that 51-story version. I liked the original version though - tall and thin.

Hopefully this new version cracks the 700' mark.

More than likely this will be 700' plus.

12' per floor, which is pretty much the bare minimum expected would put the tower at 696'.

A very possible 13' per floor puts the tower at 754'.

A not unreasonable 14' per floor would be 812'.

This is going to be big!

A little movement. A permit for temporary power for construction was filed today.

You think this breaks ground before the end of the year?

Hopefully the height remains similar to the original proposal. I think it will complement 6xGuadalupe very well from the N-S.

I haven't seen a closing announcement for Maiko yet, but it's probably coming soon as well.

Just called them and asked. They said they will be moving to a new location few blocks away no later than October. Fits the timeline for an end of the year ground breaking as reported in the ABJ article.

The young lady I spoke with wasn't exactly sure but thought it was on 3rd street a few blocks from their current location.

Lots of downtown spots didn't make it out of the pandemic. I imagine there is a lot of room to move into.

FWIW, a couple months back, I talked to someone who worked at the Lonesome Dove. He said that their lease ends in October/November. I believe Chinatown is already closed. That would track WRT 415 Colorado also starting early next year.

So we're not too far off from having cranes in the air for 321 West, 415 Colorado, and 6X all at the same time. Hanover Republic's crane may be gone by then, but the building still won't be finished. On four almost contiguous blocks, that'll be a hell of a lot of density under simultaneous construction.
