Unless I am confused, wouldn't that just be the podium section of the building?

It might be...but, that's one huge podium!

The project description provided to the city indicates the building may have 185,500 SF of office. Based on the unconfirmed information from SCRAPERWILL, there will only be 4 levels of office. Thus, each office floor plate may be over 46,000 SF. The average office tower floor plate is about 25,000-28,000 SF.

SCRAPERWILL:

Since you seem to have access to the plans; can you provide us a description of the building's design? Is there a similar building in existence, U/C, or proposed to which we may refer?

Nashville to possibly get 60-story, 750 ft residential tower...dubbed: The Paramount. Roughly 600 apartments, condos, townhouse and "ultra-luxury" penthouses.

Tower is slated to break ground in early 2016.

NOTE: this tower has been proposed by Tony Giarratana, a developer who has not had the best of luck seeing tall proposals through. His last proposal for this spot, Signature Tower, was approved and to have been a mixed use, 70-story, 1030-foot skyscraper. Due to the lack of condo presales, he downsized the project to 870 ft. and then it fell off the boards as the Great Recession took a deeper hold on the midwest. We will see how demand has changed in the past 7-8 years for high-rise residential units in Nashville.

Nonetheless, it is an actual proposal on the table that may very well be taller than Austin's Block 24 mystery! And...it's a pretty sleek design.

Her 24 year-old physique was hidden by her loose-fitting clothing, but I'd heard rumors of her stunning figure. I grew impatient, hopeful, restless. She slowly began to reach for the top button... looked and me and winked.......

Then later, when Sugar Daddy disappointed, she slumped. The reach for her dreams shortened to 450'.

Is/was SCRAPERWILL correct (with regard to the specs)? Or was that mere trolling? Notice...the poster has disappeared since the "announcement."

Nobody from Rhode Partners or Constructive Ventures is confirming or denying the "leaked" specs.

I really hope that it was a troll and that this tower is taller and has a unique/"world-class" design. At 60+ stories, this tower should be north of 700' tall!

Maybe I am trying to see to much but the front page of Rhode Partners web site is very interesting. To me it looks like a vision study to see how shapes may play out. It looks like you are looking north from the lake. The creek on the right side has the railroad trestle. The first building on the left would be Seaholm, then Monarch then Bowie. The dark tower on the right in back is 360 and the 2 buildings on the front right is northshore and 500 w2nd. If that is true then maybe just maybe you are looking at a tall iconic building!

It is a picture of block 24 condominiums! I managed to dig up the full image from the source code on Rhode Partners website.

Yeah, that's definitely it. Not sure about the height since I don't know if these are to scale, but I'd say it's at least close to 700 feet.

Bingo! Independently speaking, this is going to be the best looking tower in Austin.

OMG, that is some epic tower porn! Seriously? Could anything like this possibly arise in Austin? We don't have anything truly adventurous, with the exception of Frost.

Of course this will look slightly odd, standing out so far above, and so different from, the surrounding towerscape. It will necessitate and inspire other 600+ footers with bold designs. At least that's how my fantasy goes. Hopefully the Waller development is in the hands of someone whose ego will not sit idly by, watching Block 24 eclipse the prominence of the Waller Center.

I just heard a voice coming from somewhere, and I'm pretty sure it said "Settle down, Beavis!"
