I just hope that the two boosters on each side are expendable.

Now this is a sick tower, unlike the Dubailand tacky landmark copies.

The latest pic. The tower was originally supposed to have 72 floors but now, 2 extra have been built without any info being released. Guess we'll have to see how many extra floors they build

Can't be a lot more, because the height-width ratio is already pretty crazy. I say they'll probably build 78-80 floors.

I smell a redesign.
Maybe it'll have a flat roof after all.

^ I thought the same thing a few posts earlier as well and was wondering if there is a new render out there somewhere.

The building needs to go as high as possible.

I hope not. The rocket design looks so much better.

I would take a shorter tower over a flat roof any day. I really like the original design. It had the spire centred on the tower and looked white and purple in colour.

Exactly. All bashing about uncontrolled development aside, I love Dubai. They just keep adding on height out of nowhere.

BTW this isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened in Dubai. A certain tower in the marina was to be 45 floors high but actually turned out to be 50. I just hope they don't leave out the roof. It's currently only about 270 or 280m high and it should be 333m in the end so if it's a flat roof then there are still quite a few floors to go.

Maybe the 70 floor figure doesn't count mechanical floors. In that case it should go up to 76

It looks like they've put some protective stuff on the glass that'll be taken off when the tower's complete.
