This was one of the projects I really wanted to see happen, but it has really been dead for quite a while.

One interesting bit of information in the PDF: Vidorra 34% sold

The Broadway project has been approved!

http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/loc..._HDRC_nod.html

The panel also enthusiastically approved plans for the Broadway Lofts at 1215 Broadway. The mixed development, formerly known as Villaje del Rio on the northern edge of downtown, was partly built in 2003-04, then left idle, delayed by legal disputes and financial woes.

SA may not have a glamorous skyline (yet) but we have some damn street level density.

Haha ok that last picture @ Main Plaza made me laugh when I took a second look. That lady walking, well her leg looks way up almost as if marching. And I guess the guy is walking down the steps but it looks almost as if he's floating...haha they sorta looked cut into the picture. But awesome updates! Thanks for the pics, glad to see the hotel moving up nicely. And the justice center expansion is looking good too from the last pic at MP. Didn't think it would have been that visible, but I'm liking it...especially when it's complete.

Now that I agree on! I have always thought that. Although, I realy want a lot of tall buildings like Houston or Dallas, no city with really tall buldings has a good density. NYC or Chiacgo do, but what city in America is like that? SA has a great highlife when it comes to having a nice street eyeview

I just noticed that, too. I wish they could've at least kept the '50s funky curved facade and integrated it into whatever's going there. I've always liked the vibe of that part of Broadway. But maybe that park and the surrounding neighborhood will see the use it deserves.

Does anyone know what's going to replace the dealership?

Not sure of anything yet, but whatever will go there, it will have an easier time going through the process of redevelopment now that the "historical" dealership is gone.

Also glad that zoning won't allow auto-centric development there. I would've hated to have seen another Capital One-type incident.

For your viewing pleasure:

1915 Broadway will include about 180,000 sf of mixed use. Retail on 1st floor, office on 2nd-3rd levels, with residential occupying the top 3 levels.

This same company did Uptown 2520 about 5 blocks North.
