oh, how the great city has fallen! to see those shots of actual street activity mark how little is left of the energetic, if slightly rowdy city that stood as a great american city of the first half of the 20th century. now, it is little more than an accessory to a suburban wasteland. there is still potential, but so far it has barely been realized, even in the last boom. here's hoping for 2012 or later, when things will get going again.
i will always love you, st. louis. but so far, this century, your only success has been at disappointing your fans and admirers.

^^ yeah, that's a bit harsh. last boom? what boom? there hasn't been a boom in STL since before 1950, although there has been steady growth over the last 5 - 10 years. that is, until our predatory, glutton-encouraging economy fell apart.

...and many of those who remained , those unable to move on, have made it difficult to bring everything back, but that might be changing.
I never thought aboout it before, but it seemed like there were more lower middle class people back in the 50s. Probably not in numbers, but in percentages. And the really poor folks back then had jack sh*t. I'm more than likely wrong, but it just seems that way to me. Thought provoking video SubNat, thanks.
