I got a work email today saying that IBM closed on a deal with Karlin to lease a 3 story building at Tech Ridge for a lab. Part of this development https://www.parmeraustin.com/?mkt_to...F9-r5Fu4jfqlYc

With the IBM 900's buildings (Uptown ATX site) moving to the Domain La Quinta redevelopment, I'm pretty sure this is the future home of the teams at the IBM 45 building inside the Domain. I'm not 100% sure since I don't work there but there have been rumors of them looking for a new site.

More skyscrapers set to rise outside Austin CBD

This project has four buildings: 10-stories, 8-stories & 2 x 7-stories.

Wow, that would really transform McKalla. I hope this moves forward, but with the lack of progress at Stadium Tower and Verde Square I'm not confident.

Oh wow that would be a game changer for that area. Hope it gets built! The soccer rail stop is supposed to finish soon.

Why these projects all seem to be having trouble is beyond me. Our housing costs are insane, there's literally ZERO risk to lending for housing construction in Austin. Period. None.

I hope all of these get built. Does anyone know when the Rundberg extension is going to happen? It was funded by the 2016 bond, in 2019 CAMPO pitched in money, and it is apparently still in the design phase with no anticipated start date. This ish is fully funded, is two blocks long, and we have spent EIGHT YEARS DESIGNING IT?!?!?!?! SMH. This is a copy pasta and make suitable arrangements for context job, not some revolutionary project where we have to reinvent the wheel.

The city is horrendous when it comes to building roads. Pleasant Valley Rd. In South Austin is another head scratcher. It's 2024, and it still has the segment between Oltorf and 71 missing. It was ridiculous 30 years ago. Now it's just unfathomable. What the heck are they doing with the hundreds of millions in road bond money Austin has approved?

Pocketing it. Redirecting it to more needed projects that have cost overruns because they don't properly audit contractors, who overstaff and underwork. Have you seen construction sites? They are full of people just standing around wasting our money.

^^^Is this a revision of the "McKalla Station" proposed development? That one was to have been 491' as well. But, it included 300 apartments, 150 hotel rooms and about 300k SF of office.

This is east of the rail line. off of Kramer and Donley. I think this is the first rezoning/project proposed there.
