Big Biff mentioned the St Regis being demolished soon. Originally if I recall it was going to be a multi-storey parkade to service the now-defunct Sky City, with streetfront CRUs as mentioned above. Could be a good spot for such a thing, especially if the larger surface lots nearby on Graham are to be eventually built on.

Looks like the pad is ready to start building on. Don't know what the delay is, but once they get started I would think it would rise fairly quickly.

Car sales are down, Chipper needs to sell more used cars!

^^^Chipman has nothing to do with this part of the build. Northland Properties is the sole developer of this property.

Well, all else fails, at least there's action on this thread, cause there's nothing going on at the site.

Got my hopes up a while back when I happened to be looking at the site and saw about 10 guys in safety gear gathered together for a meeting but then they walked off the site back to their vehicles, lost the safety gear, and drove away, never to be seen again.

The site works are done. They are probably just waiting on the erectors schedule. It's a busy time of year.

I was told screen installation should start late June and take a few weeks.

HSM is planning on putting some tables in the plaza and hoping if NHL returns to play games on the screen – it's assumed many games will be happening during the day, which is cool. They're not sure if it'll be licensed outside or not. After trying delivery the first couple weeks, whole market shut down 6 weeks ago. Tenants ONLY pay % of sales for the first 18 months, so they haven't had to worry about rent.

Food Hall set to re-open next Friday.

Sutton Place / Wawanesa:
Had a chat yesterday with someone who relayed a conversation they'd had with PCL. With the Sutton Place project stalled, there's a big concern with it's impact on the Wawanesa project. Until the Sutton project north crane goes away, you can't put a crane up for the Wawanesa tower.

Is it just a stall due to COVID restrictions or like a legit "there's not money" stall that could be a cancellation? Thought Wawa wasn't supposed to start for at least another year anyway?

Wawa needs to dig a hole and do the foundation. So seem to be at least 2 years out from needing a crane. I would hope sutton is being completion by that time.

Well, how long until Gagliardi's hotels fill up again so he can pay for this project?

If that's what actually happening, he has no money and the project has stalled. Then we're screwed either way.

Luckily Winnipeg still has other projects to hang on to. I hope this delay (if any) will be gone soon
