Swift Current, SK, Major Construction Projects
This City of 18,600 and the 24th best place to live in Canada 2012, is the major population centre for southwest Saskatchewan, and lies midway between Regina and Medicine Hat on the Trans-Canada highway. With one of the highest non-local traffic counts along the Trans-Canada #1 Highway, the City has prioritized tourism in terms of local development. Saskatchewan's boom is benefiting all communities in Saskatchewan, including Swift Current. Swift Current is growing at a moderate pace but nothing comparable to Saskatchewan's two major centres; however, some major local developments are set to begin in the near future.

I heard that Saskatoon's new downtown highrise correctional facility will be opening in the near future... only one peculiar thing about it; it's signage says 'Holiday Inn and Suites'.
