I love it. I hope it's not just because we're the fattest province, ha!

We do love our food haha. I hope if Sandman hotel goes ahead they get some different types of restaurants as mentioned. The folks I know in the restuarant business were weary about doing anything with one of the hotels on Kenmount because of the unionized factor. Also can't wait for P.F Chang's its soo good.

Oh no, the 'U' word... lol... just kidding.

Have you heard about any potential restaurants for these locations?

As well, keeping with thread theme, we should probably move this discussion over to the restaurant thread. Whadda ya think, Mods?

Done.

(As an aside - I just want to say I really love this way of dealing with off-topic convos in the official projects thread. That's where conversations like this are most likely to start up and I don't want anyone to ever feel they can't start/join a conversation like this there - so all we have to do is remember to move them. )

Well the Sandman Signature Hotels also own Denny's and Moxie's so perhaps one of those might end up in the hotel? Who knows.

I find that is strange that the Legros and Motti Restaurant URL and logo says it's been a family tradition since 1955 yet there is no mention of Legros and Motti anywhere on the web other than the non-functioning website URL they have. Curious.

Ha ha, that is pretty weird isn't it? How can something brand new be a family tradition since 1955. Unless the recipes have been a tradition since 1955... mysterious!!!!!!

They could still make this claim if, for example, they purchased a restaurant that was founded in 1955, changed the name/branding, etc.

My employer, for example, can say its been around since 1932, 1968, or 1996. All are equally valid based on acquisitions, mergers, etc.

Thanks for moving the convo it was more suited for here. I forget the actual story but the concept of the restuarant was heavily influenced by family traditions and history within one of partners families so it more than likely has something to do with that. I would love Denny's to come here, also any word on The Works?

The background info for the hotel says 2 restaurants plus a future third free-standing restaurant. There's lots of surface parking for the development (360 cars) so no problem for a nice restaurant to go there.

I guess that's true. Good point. Either way I am sure Legros & Motti will be a nice addition to the waterfront.

On a side note, I did email PF Changs and asked if they could confirm that they were opening here. This is the reply I got. Sounds like your typical PR reply.

Thank you for your note and inquiry! While we do not have immediate plans to open a location in your area, we are growing and are planning to open many more restaurants throughout Canada. I will certainly share your suggestion with our International Development Team for review and consideration. Please also be sure to visit our website at www.pfchangsca.com for details on future openings as they become available.

Thank you again for your interest and support. We hope to see you soon!

Warm Regards,

Ashley Cole

I posted a couple of pages back that Sandman Hotels are in partnership with a few restaurant chains, these include Denny's, Moxie's and a couple others. So hopefully we'll see something new (and nice) go there.
