No thread about fountains would be complete without these beauties.

The fountain in Cincinnati is amazing. In terms of old, European-style fountains, I think the best in the U.S. are:

1. The Buckingham in Chicago is the best fountain in America BY FAR. It’s one of the best in the world.

2. Swann Fountain in Philly

3. Nichols Fountain in KC

4. Forsyth Park Fountain in Savannah

4. George Washington Fountain in Philly

4. Rockefeller Fountain: Bronx

5. Fountain of Life: Bronx

6. Neptune Fountain in DC

7. Soldiers and Sailors in Indy

7. Bartholdi Fountain in DC

8. Bethesda Fountain in NY

9. Prometheus Fountain and Channel Gardens in Rockefeller Center

10. Davidson Fountain in Cinci

11. Brewer Fountain in Boston

12. Bailey Fountain in Brooklyn (off for the winter in this photo)

13. Pulitzer Fountain New York

14. Maine Monument in NY

14. Montgomery, Al

15. Memphis

16. Augusta, Ga

17. DePew Fountain in Indy

17. New York Public Library

18. Neither old nor downtown by very nice in Orlando

My favorite fountain is the Dog Fountain at Berczy Park in Toronto. Notice the bone at the top of the fountain and be sure to look for the cat! This is awesome and is on a list of things I wish was in the city I post on. This park is worth visiting, the next time you're in Toronto, to see this fountain.

I can't believe no one posted this on their list. I'm sure it will appear on the lists after this post!

I've heard the videos don't always work. Try to watch the video of this fountain and park, using the Video Link:

Thanks for posting that, it is a unique feature that must distract the office workers in the adjacent buildings! I watched another video of it that shows other variations of the head's segmented movements.

The dog fountain is cool. I forgot about our friends next door when I compiled the list of European-style fountains, but Quebec City, which is like a bit of Europe in N America, has a gorgeous one.

Do any other cities in the US or Canada have old-fashioned, European-style fountains? I’m not aware or any.

It's a great fountain but in true Charlotte style, unfortunately it's in the middle of nowhere in a dismal office park. Charlotte just can't help itself.

The one in Bowling Green looks nice. Louisville has one too, but it's not downtown.

Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park in Houston. Favorite spot for wedding photographers and the occasional Bollywood musical number.
