St. Ignatius Chapel by Steven Holl - Seattle

A very subtle / understated exterior.

Gorgeous light inside:

Sedona's Chapel of the Holy Cross comes to mind.

The interior is Okay but the location perched on a cliff is cool

Also a lot of the Mormon temples are interesting. They arent quite modern, but the arent exactly classical.

Unique but in a good way.

not the world but ohio.
https://www.roadarch.com/modarch/ohchurch.html

youngstown
cathedral of st columba
1958

cleveland
st martin of tours
1962

st john the baptist orthodox
campbell
1959

the most famous modern church in ohio is not for its looks,
but rather for its once famous televangelists --
rex humbard church of tomorrow/ernest angley grace cathedral
i mean how many modern churches have a ... space needle (almost)?
a minister reviews it here:

St. Louis has a ton of MCM churches and synagogues. Many of them are graced with stained glass windows made by St. Louis' prominent Emil Frei Associates glass company (http://emilfrei.com/).

https://www.builtstlouis.net and http://www.beltstl.com/ are a couple of good but incomplete resources.

"Coolest modern churches in the world" is pretty subjective I suppose but here are a few of my favorites from around St. Louis:
