jasoncw, yes the wayfinding signage at the Pacific Science Center is definitely not designed to emulate the 60's style of the main buildings!

The Getty Center in Los Angeles (1997) By Richard Meir. It cost (infamously) 1.3 billion dollars.

Illithid Dude, I have not been to the Getty in 10 years, I forgot how extensive the use of that stone facing is there, my mental picture of the complex is always the gleaming white surfaces instead!

trueviking, the Winnipeg Art Gallery looks mildly similar to the forms of I.M. Pei's National Gallery of Art East Building, pictured earlier.

The Canadian Museum of Human Rights has been designed by Antoine Predock...I have pictures of his ASU Art Museum, which is quite different from this one being built, I will post them soon.

good eye...

there has long been debate in winnipeg about that...the WAG was designed 5 years before the washington gallery....there is some anecdotal evidence that Pei was aware for the building before he designed his.

most people in winnipeg assume that ours was inspired by the washington gallery but it is actually likely the other way around.

Kurtman, the New York State Museum looks like a classic of its era, but I was surpised to learn it was opened in 1976, about 10 years after I would have guessed! It appears to be at the end of a grand axis in the city, is it admired or loathed?
