This isn't really an update...well maybe lol...but just wanted to say that I moved to San Antonio yesterday. It's been my dream for the last six years to live here and I finally got it. Haven't had a chance to go DT yet...been to busy, but will this week. I have to stop and remind myself that downtown is at my fingertips and just down I-10 haha.

With ydoc in SA, developers are obviously going to really ramp up the number of major projects we see...

So, where do we think the next 4 or 5 big SA projects (with height) will show up? River North? Any Downtown? Southtown? Vidorra II? Devine Condo?

Looks like the Springhill Suites on 411 Flores got final approval yesterday as seen on page 202 of the HDRC agenda.
It looks nice, and 6 floors will add nice height in that section.
Also on page 145 is a cheesy motel (not yet approved) near the Mission Power Plant redevelopment and on page 150 is the rendering of the new terminal at the airport... nice

That's a pretty cool hotel. Plus it's a Andujar project.

Not to sound like a pessimist, but with developers reacting to the market they way that they are, I don't expect anything of significant height inside 410 until the Devine St condos go up. And even that won't really be that tall, though it'll certainly look impressive from 281.

Of course, this city has a way of surprising me almost as many times as it rips my heart out

It all depends on how well the current projects do.

How are the developers reacting to the market?

you might be right. i know of at least one project inside DT that would blow us all away but it falls into the "being studied" category.

can't do it - sworn to secrecy. it would be a few buildings and would be really great for DT. not much else i can give up, though.

i will say this and then never speak of it again:

it is not related to nustar.

it is not any sort of hotel project.

it is not something that has already been mentioned or rumored here.

it is not something that i have any idea of a timeline on.

Went downtown today...had to breakdown and just go do it. Gave me major chills down my spine when I saw it (and yes, I'm man enough to admit that I even teared up...yeah, I know, but when you long for a place really bad and are always looking at it in pictures, then you can understand )

I think the view of DT from I-10, and especially right when you get to DT, is very impressive. I personally think that it's only when you start to get closer up to the buildings that you can tell there not super tall....but from a distance...impressive.

I will be checking out all angles of the skyline as time permits
