There's also a Pho 68 and Rice and Noodle opening up. I saw activity at Pho 68 as well.

Also for those familiar with that grassy area between King George Station and the main Hub area, people would walk all over it as a shortcut and it would turn into a muddy mess. It's being replaced by some stairs and landscaping which looks nearly complete.

I wish they would start ticketing those people who park in the traffic circle. Are they special or stupid?

This block really jumps out, because all the buildings have relatively clean designs... something you don't see anywhere in Metro Vancouver

Progress has been crazy slow, they've moved up a level to grade after nearly 2.5 months!

Nothing crazy. Construction below grade can take longer than above grade, especially when you need to tie in with existing parkade and utilities while working close to SkyTrain tracks and a creek.

Although most stuff is invisible once completed, you have to think that all the utilities for ~40 stories above will be served from the basement, and they need to lay in all the electrical, plumbing, ductwork, conduits, etc. at the exact location in the concrete slab.
You miss the location of one wastepipe by a foot, and the slope of pipe can be screwed up or interfere with support above, then 100+ units might end up not having proper wastepipe to flush their toilet, or have plumbing issues in the future.

Once it's above grade, then the floor layouts are usually cookie cutter and it should be substantially faster like "copy and paste".

Very well said ! The most important is the foundation, basement and the underground work. What you don't see is the most important.

I respectfully disagree, 2.5 months to move one level even below grade is not typical.

To be fair, they could be running into supply/labour issues too, but I don't think things like a creek running nearby should impact anything...

When they built the KG Hub phase I, the speed was much faster and the three buildings were all done early this year. However, the Park George (the site across the street, behind Park Ave East) started almost at the same time, and it is only at the first or second level today. Not sure why... Some people said the indoor swimming poor on the ground level needs extra work. Move in date is in 2025.... The pandemic, high interest rate, slowing economy, high inflation, higher material cost, etc are not helping. I guess....

I drove by last night and didn't get a good look, but it seems there's one of those development proposal signs for the unused restaurant pad area (currently a grassy lawn) there.
