The bowl shape is becoming a lot more defined.

It's getting some height to it.

Also, looks like the DKR end zone expansion has its brick facade now.

Is there any plan of any sort of pedestrian walkway between the parking garage by Disch Falk Field and Moody Arena, etc.? I know that MLK and Manor Rd both have sidewalks, but you have crosswalks, overly eager drivers trying to get on/off I-35 that don't always pay attention when turning right, etc. I just wonder if there would be any merit (massive budget notwithstanding) to a pedestrian bridge going from between Moody/Myers to between the parking garage/Disch Falk and the tennis courts. This could be utilized for all of the various sports facilities on either side as well as the graduate student housing that's planned near the softball stadium.

You mean a bridge over 35? That wouldn't be possible for another 10 years or so. You can add that suggestion into the 35 feedback that TxDOT is asking for.

Yes, that's what I mean I know it's a pipe dream in the near term. Would definitely need to be coordinated with the 35 work or follow it, at least. Not even sure if there's a need for, but I just wonder if there is.

They built 3 on the new 183 south project but 2 of them are near areas where there are no street crossings on the highway. It's not a bad idea but they take up a lot of space for the necessary ramp ways. I'm not sure if you'll find the necessary space on the west side between the arena and the frontage. It's still worth suggesting in the next round of 35 feedback later this month.

I expect the new Manor and MLK crossings will be much more bike and pedestrian friendly. The last Schematics had "shared use paths" which are sidewalks that are between 8'-12' wide as oppose to the current 4' sidewalk.

I'd much rather see the main lanes depressed all the way to Airport, and the frontage roads tamed into being regular city streets, rather than freeway on/off ramps.

Me too.

Re: the pedestrian bridge, I think it would be cool but if it's not functionally possible, etc., or simply not needed, I would be a fan of saving money also.

Can we just say how cool it is again that the arena is going in where it is...it could have ended up farther away from campus based on early discussions. This is a win with this location. And a cool design in this location at that.
