It was strong enough to wake me up. A lot stronger than the one we had 2 years ago but no comparaison with the 1988 one. I was 7 years old at this time and I had nightmare for a week!
meh......Winnipeg roads have looked like that for years, and we don't even get earthquakes.

Apparently, the Southern Quebec/Eastern Ontario region is the second most active (after the Pacific) in the country when it comes to earthquakes. I did not know that until today. We're hit with an earthquake on average every 3 days but most of them are too weak to be felt.
The St. Laurence river basin all the way to Western Lake Erie was formed by an ancient fault. Hence why it is basically a straight line from the St. Lawrence (or Quebec City) to Windsor. There is still a ton of faulting going on in the area because of the past activity.

Well... The 2 events might not be related but the earthquake did some damage. My laptop died. The booting isn't working and every file/program I had disappeared.
I wonder if earthquakes can mess up computers? Or it was just an extreme coicidence that my computer couldn't start the following day.
A little earthquake (Magnitude 2.3) hit the West Island at 9:26AM. I didn't feel a thing, although I'm on the south shore. Epicenter seems to be in Kirkland.
