I copy-pasted this from a Philly.com article from today (posted elsewhere on this same site). Did they shave off five floors of Evo, or is this merely a misprint?

Dranoff cited more examples of University City's explosive growth, such as the 31-story Evo student residential tower and the 47-story FMC tower at Cira Centre South.

I bet it was a typo. When I was there taking pics for http://buildingphilly.com/cira-south-evo-222014/ the other day there were 3 new 15 ft crane pieces that were about ready to raise the crane another 45 feet and from what I can tell, they were working on the 30th floor that day (plus or minus 1). I don't see any reason they would drop out a few floors at this point in the process.

Great pics of the new building rising by the river. What is that construction in the river - is that a walkway?

If Cira 2 ever gets built, exactly what lot will it be on?

Warning: this is complete speculation on my part...

But, Brandywine does seem to own a building at 3020 Market St. Is it possible this could be the location? Right now it is 5-6 story structure with a parking lot next to it. (Not sure who owns the parking lot - but Brandywine has a sign posted near it.)

[/speculation]

Northwest corner over 30th and JFK. It would cap the hole over the railyards there...

Thanks Philly Fan. That really is a cool concept - the building of that boardwalk to connect the Schullkill River Trail. I love the smaller-scale, multi-use aspect of it. It's things like that that contribute to a rich urban fabric.

Plokoon, I was driving by and snapped a couple today at http://buildingphilly.com/cira-south-evo-2162014/ . Part of me thinks that the east facing side is topped out now but I could certainly be wrong. I'm fairly sure its at 31 floors today and has been for the last week. Granted the weather could have slowed things down but this building has quite a slant as it moves from east to west so my theory is that the front, east side is topped out and they are laying the pool foundation now and getting ready to start building up the west portion.

FMC was originally scheduled to start this summer I believe but the winter may also delay that. The plan is certainly to start in 2014.

Another nice tidbit is that it appears construction has started on the 6 acre green park on top of the current parking garage. I'm hoping it will be open to the public but I have a bad feeling that won't be the case. Fingers crossed anyway.

I counted the floors on that rendering compared to what it is now. Two more floors until the east side is topped.

Is this still scheduled to open for Fall 2014? Based on where they are now seems like it would at least be until the end of the year until it's finished.
