Its so underrated, and it gets swallowed up by LA. Most people don't know what's there. It has a decent amount to walkable districts outside of downtown too.
Chrisla is very knowledgeable about Long Beach, if he's still around.

Urbanize LA/Curbed LA (before it died) has nice updates of whats happening there.

Good question. I was looking at them from Kenneth Hahn last weekend, and they had the appearance of being the tallest structures in CC now.

I believe they are supposed to be 600' tall, which is about 30' taller than the triangle twins across the street. Do they still raise a tree and flag at topping out ceremonies? Why a tree? Will both of the towers get a topping out ceremony, or just one?

Is Kenneth Hahn park near where the Baldwin Hills reservoir used to be, where the dam broke in 1963? That was some flood.

Exactly! It's a really great area, with panoramic views from Palos Verdes to DTLA.

Am i going to be out of place by saying it looks like it belongs on the Vegas Strip ? like its a new casino/hotel, especially the 3rd and 4th pics. Not saying its necessarily a bad thing, i actually like it a lot and surprised by how quickly this thing sprung up.

Great picture, pwright1. Thanks for posting it.

Is the JMB tower catty corner still under construction? Haven't seen anything about that one in a while.

Century Plaza Towers are having a great impact on any CC skyline angle now.
Btw, I noticed the new Barrington Plaza is up to 10 floors or so.

Also, most of West LA/Santa Monica appears the same, just quieter. I was expecting a much more dire/depressing scene over there, going off simiiar forums. I haven't been to those areas since March, but they seem to be surviving to me.

Totally agree that the new Century Twin Towers are coming along beautifully and will add to the dynamic Century City. Also like the new bridge. What a bold statement.

I was watching a real estate youtube video on a highrise apartment on Wilshire Blvd. The views are of Century City and fairly recently. Looks like the twin towers are taller than the other twin towers. I hope this link works.

The outdoor seating in Santa Monica looks amazing. Dare I even say, it looks better pre covid?
