You gotta boil that frog slowly. Those 6 metres are just the first step.

It'll be about 54 years before this this building beats PDV C by six metres for tallest in the CBD. That's slow enough.

Not quite. Mississauga and Quebec City will also both have taller buildings, even if this is built as proposed.

Le Phare de Québec proposal has been reduced significantly in height, from 65 floors to 47 floors (180 meters).

https://www.journaldequebec.com/2020...ment-47-etages

I'm not aware of the Mississauga proposal.

M City M3 tower in Mississauga will be a little taller at 260 metres. M1 and M2 will be 198 and 201 metres.

Thanks for posting. Mississauga sure has (and continues to add) an interesting mix. So, we'll have the tallest outside the GTA, Edmonton and Calgary then!

Just bumping up this comment I made a while back. I'm sure a few ranks have changed a little since I did the research. Trinity has gained five metres since these calculations were made so it would be the third tallest in Miami for example.

Rental apartment or condo developement?

Does anyone know if 900 Albert project would be a rental apartment or Condo development project?
When would be the launch for the 1st phase - any dates available?

Thanks

Even the exterior renderings are different. The building heights were changed. They basically made the tower that's closer to Wellington West the shorter tower. It also looks like they have retail units opening right onto Albert Street whereas in previous renderings the retail units opened up onto the driveway that ran through the site.

I've never seen the interior rendering before. The articles exterior renderings however are outdated. The most recent plans, posted on DevApps on September 11th, have the office tower on Albert on the narrowest east corner of the lot. Heights in the article are also off; the office tower is now 24 floors, not 27 and the second residential tower (City Centre side) is 56, not 54.

Here's the most up-to-date site plan:

It also says 'At 65 stories and 262 meters (884 feet)' while the actual height is 234 metres (768 feet). 884 feet would be insanely awesome but 768 is still plenty enough.

Ahh whoever wrote the blurb must have read that on the elevations. That's not how a building is measured. Kind of funny.

Interesting that they are looking for an LCBO. The Hintonburg location is only a five minute walk and I can't see them moving that one. I guess with all of the projected density in the area I could see a location here, but not right at the time of build.

Possession 2023-2024. They would have to start building this now or next spring. So will they on speculation, in this uncertain climate, or are they hoping to secure a tenant before starting construction, which could delay this project, at least the office tower portion indefinitely.

Grocery store is also interesting. Wellington West is fairly well served with small independent stores like Hintonburg Market, Nu and Wellington Butchery. Several grocery stores are proposed on or near the O-Train (Moon, Preston@Beach, the nearly topped-out Bronson tower (?)).

I imagine that their target demo is not hintonburg, but rather the new residents in the flats.
