Nice shots, man. I never tire of the skyline shots of Pittsburgh. You seem to find angles that are a little bit different in every new thread.

Thanks for the Schenley Farms pics... they bring back memories for me when I was a grad student at Pitt.

This is a classic Pittsburgh view.

Awesome. You should bring that lens to the top of the Cathedral sometime. You know there are several stairwells with windows where you can climb out onto the ledges. Always a favorite for out of town friends (as long as they aren't afraid of heights).

Well Pittsburgh has never really had a small city mentality. First it was the site of major military operations and fortifications during the revolutionary days. Then before St Louis took the title, Pittsburgh was the gateway to the west. Then it became one of the most important industrial cities in the world. At one point it was the 3rd largest corporate headquarters city in the country with more fortune 500 companies than all but New York & Chicago. Once we were the 5th largest city in the US. We were the location of the worlds first billion dollar corporation (U.S. Steel), and the richest man in the world Andrew Carnegie.

We were the Seattle of the 20th century.

All I know of are the dirty windows on the 36th floor.

Castle Shannon is cool. You could ride the T into downtown and give us a photothread sometime!

I didn't mean to call it small, just that it looks much bigger than many other cities of comparable size.

I never get tired of seeing Pittsburg's beauty and grit (unlike a couple of cities always on here)

Beautiful shots. And it's always nice to see other pictures as well as the usual Triangle head on view. The U and CofL, CM and neighborhoods and the CBD from other directions.
Yet another city I'd like to go back to visit.
