Gwinnett Place Mall revitalization team selects 'Global Villages'-style redevelopment

https://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/lo...d5e216422.html
Quote:
The redevelopment would collectively add 2,700 residential units; between 50,000 and 100,000-square-feet of restaurant cultural-focused retail; about 25,000-square-feet of commercial office space; about 12.7 acres of green space, including a central lawn with a performance space and smaller pocket park-type spaces; an international culture and community center; a 1.25-mile Ring Road greenway trail loop; a parking deck with up to five floors and about 200 parking spaces per floor.

Beauty Master sure has a prominent place in such a big redevelopment plan.

It's a shame that we don't live in an alternate timeline where MARTA was extended into Gwinnett. This would be a lot better with a MARTA station in the middle of it.

I love the look of this. It reminds me of 1960’s Miami or DC. Symmetry, simplicity and elegance. I think this will age well

Yes, I like the irregularity of the surface with both cantilevered and recessed balconies. It seems to help break up the large surface areas and makes it more interesting. It has a sort of retro modernism thing going on.

Mark Toro proposes another version of Avalon in John's Creek

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...y-details.html
Quote:
Toro recently filed plans with local officials to turn the 43-acre site at McGinnis Ferry Road and Johns Creek Parkway into a mixed-use development called Medley, named as an homage to the city's diversity and a reference to the variety of flavors and experiences that will be offered by the project. It will be part of the suburb's larger vision for creating a 192-acre town center.

Preliminary plans for Medley include 900 residential units.

Also, this is LITERALLY a 10 min walk from the MARTA station. Even if there is no bridge over the RR tracks, MARTA could simply have a small shuttle going to and from the station every 10 min.

I never post on this site but, this is one of silliest comments I've seen. You do realize this is a Movie Production set right? Those aren't aren't even real apartments. The "parking garages" are movie sets.

I was going to say that those movie & TV production studios but I didn't know that the residential was fake. That really sucks for a location that had so much potential.
