LAS VEGAS | Turning Torso Towers ( 2 Towers) | 820 FT / 250 M | NEVER BUILT

urning Torso Towers Everywhere

It has been revealed that the famous Turning Torso apartment building designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava for the City of Malmo in Sweden, will also be built in the United States.

A construction company has expressed an interest in building two Turning Torsos in Las Vegas.

These two new towers will be 250 metres high as opposed to the 190 metres of the Malmo building.

MGM Mirage, who already owns a large number of hotels and casinos, is handling the new project.

According to one Swedish newspaper, directors of MGM Mirage have already been in contact with Mr. Calatrava for the project, but his office in Valencia has not yet confirmed that negotiations are under way.

It has been previously announced that the Turning Torso towers are also planning to be built in Istanbul.

These two towers are going to build?

What?

Las Vegas will be getting two Leaning towers part of "Project CityCenter" but they dont spiral.

Originally VDARA, another tower of Project CityCenter was designed as a Spiral Tower, since then the design has been changed to a simple sleek curving design, its almost done with construction.

You can see the spiral tower in the very back of this early model:

do you have a source for that article/statement? it sounds an awful lot like it was fabricated.

All those articles are from 2005. I wouldn't worry about it because like Patrick said the MGM Mirage's big project right now is Project City Center. The Turning Torso was probably part of the original design (in 2005), but is long gone by now.

A very good reason could be because Calatrava didn't want it to happen. I'm pretty sure he has enough business already.
