Among medium-size airports, Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) in Taiwan took the top honors. Despite only operating from one runway, Taiwan’s second-largest airport kept congestion to a minimum.
The only U.S. airport in the top 10 was in Idaho — Boise Air Terminal at Gowen Field (BOI).

New report highlights the world’s most punctual airports in 2019

Cirium found that Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport came out on top in multiple categories, followed by Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

An On-Time Performance (OTP) Review has been released by Cirium, identifying the world’s best performing airports and airlines for on-time flight operations in 2019.

Cirium CEO, Jeremy Bowen, said: “Airports which consistently operate on time and go that extra mile for their customers deserve to be recognised in an increasingly competitive environment and should be justifiably proud of reaching such a world-class industry standard.
Achieving world-class customer satisfaction and industry-leading product differentiation is about more than just competitively-priced tickets and flight availability.”

Russia was ranked particularly well, with Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) being named as the world’s most on-time airport, and Russian airline Aeroflot named as the most punctual European and global airline.

Sheremetyevo International Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport were both remarkably successful, being awarded a top-three ranking in two separate categories.

Bowen continued: “We believe Cirium’s On-Time Performance Review 2019 will inspire airlines and airports to continue innovating to improve their performance. By embracing digital transformation and leveraging data to its full potential, Cirium can help the aviation industry harness its power to improve on-time performance and enhance the passenger experience.”
