Unless you're on you're phone which makes it more difficult.

I think it's a little unfair for people to complain when government employees don't use the absolute cheapest form of everything. Complaining about the choice of office, or a Christmas party, etc. The people working in these agencies are also people with jobs, just like those working for commercial companies. Government jobs already pay much less than the equivalent industry job. Why can't they have nice things just like industry workers do?

Yeah, bypassing paywalls with a phone is more difficult. Also, the Business Journals have made it much more difficult to use the escape key method. For those articles, I just read them in the page source code.

Escape key on my desktop works about half the time on the Statesman. I have to be quick and nimble; otherwise, it just won't load at all. Business Journal no longer loads with escape key, but sometimes when clicked from a link on Facebook or something akin to that, the entire Business Journal article will load. It is all a mystery. I wish folks would just copy and past text, if they want to share it.

I suspect most people posting the links don't have access themselves. I don't have access to any pay sites, but every link I post was one I accessed by one of the free methods.

It's even dumber because your talking about a pension fund. You need to recruit talent against large financial institutions and private equity. If you put these people in a basement off Riverside your going to have a hard time recruiting the sorts of people you want managing large pension funds for other public sector employees.

Not to be a jerk, but this isn't exactly the state Street sweepers administration.

The 300 Colorado crane will need to be jumped soon as well.

Boy its really hard to fathom that one day this squibly wobbly looking infant of a building will some day grow up to be a beautiful iconic landmark.

This thing is going to be huge. We don't have another tower as long as this one is that is as tall as this one is. The only contenders are the JW Marriott and Fairmont, but those are 400 footers. The W and the Hilton don't run the full length of their blocks, but they're close, and the Hilton is less than 400 feet. This will be the first 500 footer that runs the full length of its block. It's going to be quite a slab on the skyline. Even 6 X Guadalupe doesn't run the full length of its block, and both The Republic and Block 185 will be tapered edifices.

We should start seeing the glass going up along the sides any time now, right?

Nice photos.

Man, I'm liking this view. Good streetwall filling in there. And all that new glass.
