Topped out at 310m now apparantly, much more realistic looking height.

Great construction. These buildings are really fat on some sides and really thin on others. I love the ransom white dots!

Yes! Why did they build it in the middle of nothing? They would've looked so much better in the main waterfront!

what an amazing photo of the site, it really gives you a jaw dropping take on what they expect to do in that sector. yeooow that is a lot of development.

WOW! :wow:

that is one of the coolest pictures i've ever seen! its as if its in a remote location, away from everything else, like an utopia or something.

They are really beautiful buildings but look very strange where they are now. Perhaps in 10 years or so when the rest of the area fills up.

Well they are in a pretty remote location at the moment.

Amazing shot btw. Is it from another building? If so, it must've been made with a good zoom. I wouldn't think a helicopter would risk flying in such landing conditions.

I like the design of the tower but it just seems weird to have a 1000 footer in the middle of what seems nowhere!

I'm thinking all that extra space will be covered with development sooner or later. Kind of like how the Burj Dubai was seen surrounded by desert but now it's all filled in with development now. These towers aren't that far from the rest of the city anyway, and the infill should follow. Can't wait to see this in 5 years time!

BTW that shot of the towers over the fog is AMAZING. My new desktop background.

i forgot to mention this, but they remind me of the Renaissance center in that last shot. A very modern and sexy Renaissance center that it.

At burj dubai everything went on hold and there are a huge amount of empty sand pits surrounding it.

sleek looking towers - I like - amazing pic with the fog!!

I suppose the plan is to build Dubai mark 2 around them in all that wasteland.

I wonder if it will ever happen though. How much development can these areas take? Dubai is already on its last legs...

I kind of agree with you. The taller tower does look sort of like the Detroit Marriot hotel with the external elevator shafts. Of course the main difference besides the oval floorplan (vs round) and the 40% height difference is the one vs four secondary towers (also oval vs octagon).

They are impressive, but I wish they were closer to one another. With that distance between them, they seem to defy each other.
