From the webcam, we can see a cement pump on site this morning... This could be the base of the crane

Is it me or are they pouring concrete directly on the ground? Its probably normal but i would have thought that they would have added some sort of stucture that would be more stable at the base to support the wight of the crane...
No ?

I'm no expert, so for all I know, maybe they dug too low...

It could just be a mud-mat in order to provide smooth and leveled platform to build either elevator shafts or the tower crane footing.

I guess we will find out soon.

From the looks of it the excavation depth has finally hit the underlying bedrock so there is no need to provide any additional support for the poured concrete (apart from some rebar maybe) if it's just being used as a level base for the crane. They're using the rock as formwork

From the booms I hear everyday, I can confirm they're on bedrock...

Installing the crane would make sense, since the excavation work of Roccabella started in March (8 months), while the excavation of the TDC, due for December, only started in June (4 months now, 6 months total).

Super.
Quand on y pense, Roccabella deviendra le 2e plus haut complexe de tours jumelles au Canada, après le Bankers Hall à Calgary.

La préparation de la base de la grue continue. Ils sont à poser les barres d'acier avant de couler le béton:

As for the design and cladding, no new render out yet.

I look at this photo and the sheraton hotel looks way taller than 118m...

That render is wrong... Both towers will have an identical height of 147m. What is odd in that render is the towers being shown slightly higher than E-Commerce Place and the Sheraton, while they are about 30 meters taller...

I made that render to show the difference between the original height of the proposal (at right) and the new height of the twins (at left). It's very clear if you take the time to read the first sentence of my post.

So at right it's 143m and at left 147m? Sorry, I didn't understand correctly the purpose of the render at first, thanks for clarifying.

On the left is the project at 40 stories, which was estimated to be 143m at the time that render was made (it has since been confirmed as 147m, so it would be slightly taller). On the right is the project at 35 stories, and probably around 120m.

De ce que j'ai vu sur la webcam tantôt, un semi-remorque amène les sections de la grue. La base semble bien avancée.
