Well if you look at the pics of this proposed building it is actually very nice, not anything like their other buildings, which I agree are ugly stucco buildings. Hopefully they actually build this one as it would fill in one ugly parking lot with a modern scraper.

I don't understand why they pushed back the priority of this building to behind FCC II, this one has been proposed a year longer than FCC II, and obviously Regina needs the office space.

FCC 2 is being built by Harvard wheras this building was proposed by a different developer. So when you say "they pushed back the priority" to whom are you referring?

I've always heard that Vale Potash was going into the 1855 Rose St tower. If they are to build this tower, the delay could be due-to-the-fact that potash industry is slow(?) at this time - I dunno.

Vale has shelved the kronau project for now.

FCC is proceeding because they have a tenant. Rose does not. The need someone big like SGI or SashPower as an anchor.

Saturday there was a drilling rig in the property. They were probably drilling test holes for an environmental report which would be a prerequisite for financing.

Yup, I was going to mention this too, saw it on Friday already. Still wish FCC was going to be a little taller.

Yeah. I also wish this one would be elevated to 100 meters. No such luck

Just thought I'd bump this thread with some information from the general Regina thread...

The project was reapproved by city council and it was also announced that there is a possible anchor tenant in "Brandt Industries" who, if it comes to fruition, would pick up the naming rights too.

Read the Leader Post article for more information.

Well, if this is a go, then the average floor pitch will be 4.6 metres per floor! (73.5/16)

Holy shit!

Note sure where that height ever came from. The City's website says it is 65m plus mechanical penthouse/parapet, so more like 68m

Floors 1 and 2 and 6m each
Floors 3-14 are 4m
Floor 15 is 5m
Floor 16 is 5.5m

That will make it the 7th tallest building in Regina once this and Capital Point are built
