Shame CG Tower is in Vaughn... perfect for downtown (maybe better than the Selby). More brick downtown please.
No doubt One Delisle is working its way through the approvals process behind the scenes.

As for CG Tower, Vaughan needs some love too. We're getting more brick downtown. And wood too!

I love SHoP's work, and the low-rises are true to form (re: great), but the tower is a bit underwhelming.

Tower is a local firm, the podium level is SHoP.

That makes a lot of sense. The tower's not bad, just not up to SHoP standards. Now, if they continue the brass/gold/corten mullion elements in the tower, that might elevate it a bit. They seem to be there in one render, but not the more detailed one.

Love the base of 400 King West. Is that new, or a building that already exists?

Really hate to slag a brick podium, but most times it is redolent of existing/past brick structures.

If this was a church site build I might buy in... but it's odd.

It's a decent enough project but I find it way to conservative for that stretch of Yonge which is better suited to a sense of glitz and sparkle rather than clean, restrained and inoffensive.

Now this (right side) on the other hand would have been perfect for the Yonge site while the restrained Teahouse design would fit well with Yorkville. It's almost like someone dropped some paper file folders containing the designs for each site and accidentally put the designs in each other's file.

Teahouse looks awful and is an awful project where it's located on Yonge....it fits better in North York then a prominent site on downtown Yonge street.
