There are some plans to build on the area of former Tempelhof airport to built
a 1000 metres high artificial mountain, which should look like a real mountain in the Alpes.
Do you think it is possible? There are some remarkable artificial mountains resulting from mining
in Germany, but these mountains have a regular inclination and no rock walls. Of course one can built
such a structure of concrete, but would it be very well possible to install stable inclined earthed areas? One may
not forget that on natural mountains especially in high mountainous area falling rocks and landslides are common,
resulting in problems for the areas at the foot of the mountain. I believe these things nobody in a large city wants!
