Landmark 7

Main crane went up. Video link offers a good conceptual of the final.

Great pictures, and that video is interesting! I didn’t realize that Landmark 7 would have such a large podium, I’m assuming it’s for parking?
Thanks!

Wasn't expecting that podium! It's incredible that we cannot find many details on this building--heights, drawings etc.

The damage has been repaired, seems to have been confined to just a couple of units. The development was supposed to open for Fall 2019 but not the banners on site show Spring 2020. The fire damage would not have impacted this, they seemed to have been behind schedule before it happened.

What does everyone think about this? I’m fine with some sort of combined development with different stages as long as it happens in the time frame that the city wants. Which is to start development in the next 2 years. Maybe instead of 11 stories though they could go for something a bit taller.

If they did something like they did in sanfrancisco that would be pretty sweet!

I'm all for the concept but 11 stories would be a wasted opportunity on that site. Large mixed use development with a hotel, conference facilities, theatre and possibly condos on the upper floor would be great on that location.

I can't wait to see the actual proposals for the site, I think the COK will be hoping and encouraging much more ambitious developments than the concept above.

Hi. New to the forum.

Wondering about One Water Street. I'd heard the 2nd tower was being built, but other than the raft slab and the common areas, there doesn't seem to be much progress on the tower itself. Anybody know what's going on?

Just saw this, it was posted the other day.

http://www.kelownacapnews.com/news/m...edium=twitter#

This significant site across from the mall looks like it is moving ahead for redevelopment. Not very surprising following the Costco relocation. It would be interesting to see the two proposed (future phase) towers mentioned above in that area. Although, this whole corner experiences some pretty high volume already, so I'm curious to see how this pans out.

The second tower is underway. They started construction on it early this year ahead of schedule. You can see the progress on it in my post above and in several others on previous pages. They are currently on the 3rd floor I believe, it should really start to rise once all the podium (bench) work is complete.

Interesting that they report 2 towers in the second phase and I remember that initial unveiling by District. The reporter obviously did not dig deep enough as the latest report issued by HM Commercial (which is usually compiled through industry and not applications) states a single tower of 35 stories with 283 units. In either case, combined with the mass of 6 storey units, traffic volume which is already strained will need to be addressed.

I hear you about Tower 2. But the work on the 4 storey podium in that area appears stalled. That's why I was wondering if they are go-slowing on T-2.

Yes I agree, took a walk down this afternoon and there doesn't seem to be much happening on that side. The podium in the first tower seemed to proceed at a snails pace too for a while. Perhaps there is work going on we can't see from the outside. They are on the third floor in places but still on the first floor in other areas.
