yup great photos. Kelowna looking fantastic in the summer.. Looks so green & well kept.

Used to live a block in from that shot west from Capri Centre, on Lawrence Ave while at OUC. Those were some fun times

Wonderful shots, thanks so much for sharing. Kelowna does look quite lush and green, especially this year. Recent years have been abnormally dry, but the valley received a healthy amount of rainfall during July.

It's great to see the skyline evolve so quickly now, and see the increasing diversity all around. Could have happened much sooner.

I still think it's silly they scrapped or postponed plans for a bypass though. This population boom should be adequately met with funding for road projects and improvements.

Great shots! To answer your question, yes both One Water Street towers are currently under construction. The shorter tower was started later but still proceeded ahead of the initial schedule due to good sales.

Thanks a bunch! I wish I was in Kelowna for a little longer to get some more shots. Maybe next year

Awesome! Next year will be quite interesting to see the changes.

And yes, I agree that the time is now to put in the bypass and second bridge crossing, before things become to developed and therefore far more expensive / disruptive to build.

The city has set aside the land already for the bypass. I think the lots on the south side of Bay Ave between Ellis and Richter are all on the future expropriation block and they would do an overpass over Tolko. The problem is, the province hasn't confirmed their preferred route yet which is in their 2040 plan.

The Clement Ave extension to Hwy 33 was placed in the five year plan last year.

I spent a day in Kelowna last week and much of that day was spent in traffic. What a joke. I don't want to go back there but really liked the natural scenery outside the developed areas.

Not sure what the traffic is like in Timmins but Kelowna is not too bad. It's a lot worse in the summer so you definitely saw the worst of it. Glad you enjoyed the scenery, it is especially enjoyable this year without that dang smoke!

You needed to avoid Harvey Ave/Hwy 97 through Kelowna from downtown to about Hwy 33. Lots of alternative routes not known to tourists although some online navigation apps will get you around that traffic.

I don't get the Kelowna traffic complaints either. My parents bitch about traffic constantly, but I haven't had a single issue this summer. I spend my time between Seoul and Shanghai though, so maybe my opinion isn't worth much.

Now Metro Vancouver, that area has some awful traffic by any measure.

Traffic was fine in kelowna in terms of vehicle volumes when I was there, I just found the frustrating amount of stoplights to be an issue. It took us forever to get through town even though traffic levels were ok.

Yeah, that makes sense. Harvey/Hwy 97 is really bad in that regard.

I'm at the tail end of my visit home before heading back to Asia, so I went up Knox Mountain to take some pictures of the city.

Good, that extension is needed to a high degree. It will definitely serve as a more direct route from Rutland to the downtown northern corridor.

Harvey Avenue is merely a disaster. There are times throughout the day or week where its manageable, but during peak hours you want to avoid it. Sadly there aren't many quicker alternatives. The airport intersection is also completely irrational and then when you're just about through, Winfield's first light will often cause cars to be lined up all the way down to Duck Lake.

Awesome shots, Giallo!

It’s nice to see an application for a commercial building in that location. I want to see them clean up Leon but. Why are they submitting such a small skinny building? They are asking for a variance on parking saying that the location wouldn’t allow parking for such a small area. Do they own the boyd building? I’d say come back with a proposal that takes up more area so you can include parking. Unless they only own that chunk of land before Boyd’s

Oops! Never mind. I was looking at the roads backwards. I guess they want to develop the other side of the street where those used cars are.
