HEB is closing they're closest store to downtown. I think its on Flores. It's right next to the highway south of downtown.

They closed it because it's very small, very old and in need of fixing and they're building a HEB Plus! (will be the largest HEB Plus! until the one on Evans is built) 1.7 miles from said store. No need to keep it open when it's as old and as small as it is.

I should also add that HEB is going to offer people who used that HEB free bus rides to the new HEB Plus!

And this is what's being built 1.7 miles from that HEB:


Opening is in August.

Southeast.

It's at the new McCreless Market development under construction replacing the old mall.

River North needs at least one decent grocery store that isn't a convenience store. The benefits of living downtown would be diluted if you had to hop in your car and drive up broadway to central market or wherever.
