Another grand tower proposal for Chicago. This one also looks really nice. I hope it gets built in some form.

Developer Tries Comeback With New Chicago Waldorf
By JENNIFER S. FORSYTH
September 27, 2007; Page B1

CHICAGO -- It wasn't so long ago that Michael Reschke was one of the biggest names in Chicago real estate, and the company he built developed or acquired more than $10 billion worth of properties.

He founded his development company while in his 20s and constructed a Chicago skyscraper by the age of 36. His Chicago-based Prime Group thrived during the 1990s, spinning off five publicly traded real-estate companies. But he ended up losing his office company in part because of a gamble he took with Blackstone Group LP, and the retail company he founded was sold against his will.

Well I no developer but I think that the Hilton name just put some teeth on this project in my mind.

Was pleasantly surprised when I opened the WSJ this morning...Love the look, and love how it would look along with the Spire...

Oh, my god. This thread was posted today and already over 125 posts! Anyways hope it gets built. Looks nice but we need more rendering. What's that other tower on the left side of the render?

No. This is Carley's tower. Pandemonious mentioned it seperately.

and that's a totally fair concern, but i would also advise you to be mindful that these two projects are on entirely different schedules. there's probably a minimum of 18-24 months before these guys could even start talking about sales (and most likely even longer than that going by other recent supertall projects like trump, waterview), and by that time the spire might already be making a significant dent in the skyline
I will agree on this, and so far, we don't hear rumors or concerns that Trump might not get completed because of the Spire, why should we worry about the Waldorf potentially taking sales of the Spire.

Or maybe Trump's reamining condos just have really bad views

Like a previous poster stated, with every molecule in my being, i want to see every last supertall proposal topped out in Chicago, from this to Wolf Point, and everything else on the board or currently under construction. Creating the world's most unfathomable architectural showcase of a skyline, unchallenged anywhere.

But realistically, you've got to know that more than one of these great proposals won't be built. Chicago just isn't at that point yet for them ALL to be built. And if it ever reaches that point, God strike me with lightning.

Guys, why are none of Chicago's newspapers reporting about this proposal?

Maybe its simply too early.

Edit: Looks very promising. Im a bit overwhelmed today with so much skyscraper news.

No, but seriously, this looks like a neat proposal. I can't wait to hear more about it.
