Would be nice to slap a new coat of pain on the Nutty Club bldg. too.

I noticed the paint is peeling.

Would be great to start seeing some green roofs here. Should almost be mandatory for buildings with "innovation" in the name.

All I can think is damn, st b could use a few residential high rises... and I would love to see that rail corridor used for RT. Rail relocation doesn't necessarily have to mean rail removal after all. Get the big railways out and repurpose some of the more choice routes to something resembling the S-Bahn

The city likes to restrict everything to 6 stories in St. B.

Didn't Toronto require green roofs for buildings of a certain size?

Toronto has a graduated green space requirement for both new buildings or additions that are over 2000 sq meters.

Here is the Toronto bylaw page that shows the size requirements: https://www.toronto.ca/city-governme...en-roof-bylaw/

Wasn't the least bit excited about this building. Saw it more as filler. Now that we're nearing the end of construction I've definitely come around. That thing looks just fantastic!

^the city cut all the 50 year old trees down along Lombard. They are going to redo the sidewalks and decided to put new sticks in instead. Makes the building look better because you can see the corner where the box overhangs, but still a weird decision.

They would be dead within 10 years anyway, tney are also only 30 plus years old. Tney are or were Ash, same as the ones all over the exchange that will all be dead once the emerald ash boror jumps the river as its just in st b now.

So may aswell start planting new trees now aa when it comes it tales out an entire block in one seasom. Its not slow like DED.

^you are right. Just checking the map. I didn't realize almost all the trees in the Exchange are ash. That's going to suck. They make the area so much more liveable. The ones in front of my office on Bannatyne are Siberian Elm. Will be the only street with any trees in a few years.

Even most of the tree sin Stephen Juba Park are ash.

they're a bit trickier in the rr valley, but it would be nice to see more bur oak and eastern white cedar planted by the city. bur oak acorns are also a potential urban food crop

I think most of the trees planted in the Exchange/Downtown in the last couple years are Russian Olive. Supposed to be very hearty.

Side note TV, the view of RIC & Nutty Club man from Sals is awesome.
